Felix de Esseleia (“Fell-licks” de “Es-sell-lee-ah”)Age: Physical (monster form):
Razor sharp beak and talons ready to turn you into strips of bacon

A dagger he got for Christmas in his first year at Monster Academy

Expressive Arts (Ugh...)Weakness:
He gets very lethargic in warm places due to his naturally high body temperature.
Though his tears have healing properties, he can’t heal himself. He can heal anyone else, though. If he wants to. Which is rare.
His fire attacks are hopelessly weak to water and earth, since water drowns out his flames while earth simply smothers them.
Wounds he gets from water and earth spells take a longer time to heal on him than it would normally.
Has a bad habit of over-exerting himself in terms of fire magic when fighting and, depending on how long the fight is, may pass out right after.Major skills:
He’s completely immune to fire. You can douse him in oil and set him alight and he’ll just laugh. Then he’ll kill you for burning his clothes. Particularly his hat. His magic alternates between having to mutter small chants or simply waving a hand. The former used for precise or complex spells while the latter is used for general fireballs.
Using fire is second nature to him but as a result of his rebirth, his skills are still rusty. Thanks to that, he can still use fire spells with relative ease though the complex ones are still too difficult for him to master. Should he overexert himself, he risks the chance of passing out.
….Does the ability to stand extreme cold count?
He can absorb fire. The tattoo on his chest is what helps him do so. In his glamor, the tattoo glows slightly, not enough for it to be seen under his hoodie. In his phoenix form, it's covered in feather so you can't see it. The condition is that the fire must be made through magical means, like the fireballs he can make. He can't absorb power from fires lit through normal means.Minor skills:
When he cries, which he can at will, his tears can heal the most severe injuries. While this works on everyone except himself, it does have its limits. The injury must be fresh. He can't cure scars. While he can heal physical wounds (like gashes) and non-physical wounds (like poison), things like severed limbs are beyond his power. The most he can do is stop the bleeding. For some reason though, using this skill in his glamor tires him.
Does the ability to be annoying as heck count?
He can reduce the amount of damage water and earth spells do to him, thanks to some spells he had learned. When he uses the spells, they only damage him as much as they would someone else. The spell will last for two hours and he won't be able to use it again for four hours.History:
Vitalis is, as stated, a phoenix. Born from the ashes of his previous life, he remembers everything from his first life to his latest life. Upon rebirth, he spent the first few years simply recollecting the basics such as flying, talking and hunting. It was during these few years where he relished fights and was sadistic to a fault. After that, he calmed down somewhat and decided to explore the world to add to his already extensive knowledge. Unfortunately, flying around as a flaming bird has its drawbacks. Such as people trying to catch you to cut your head off and make you into a trophy. Vitalis found this out the hard way. He had stopped for a rest and before he knew it. He was caged up and about to be gunned to death. He managed to escape by incinerating both cage and captors and, after much panicking decided that he really needed to find an alternative method of travel. Eventually, he found the school called Monster Academy and barely hesitated to enroll himself.
Since joining Monster Academy, he has met several people. Now with a number of friends (and maybe the same amount of frienemies), he managed to avoid getting in trouble the whole year. Perhaps the most surprising thing though, was that he managed to get a girlfriend, Sylvia. Even he wonders how at times. Currently though, all he wants to do is graduate and travel. He made a promise to Sylvia that he would help her look for her 'perfect home', though why she doesn't like to travel is beyond him. He has also started to wonder about his parents, leading him to begin research on phoenixes.Glamor:
A gold armband on his left upper arm, just above the school armband. The armband has an open section where, when he takes the form of a phoenix, it rests on the top of his wing much like a wing tag, without impeding his movements.Extra stuff:Height:
81 kg (178.6 lbs)Personality: Confident:
To the point it's almost arrogant. Lazy ass:
He won't help unless it profits him in some way. The only time he would do something out of free will is if he truly cares about someone. Hard to insult:
Majority of the names you call him will only earn you a laugh. He seems most insulted by nickames like 'Feathers'. Staring at you, Lucian.... Loyal:
Only if he trusts you and considers you a true friend will he show a surprising amount of loyalty. It won't save you from the pranks and the wise-cracks, but if you need him, he'll be there. Childish:
Though wise (not that said wisdom shows very often), he can truly act like a thirteen-year-old at times.... Or maybe even a five-year-old.....Whether it's when he's embarrassed or really playful, he's a lot more likeable when he's like this. Unfortunately, few people get to witness this behaviour. Sarcastic jerk:
His default behaviour. If you can stand him during the first encounter, you can stand him during the next. He tends to be a little nicer the next time. Barely. Clingy:
But only to Sylvia, his girlfriend. He doesn't really 'cling', but he does like being near her and hugging her. Claustrophobic:
It's not very obvious, but you can tell when he's panicking. Enclosed spaces, especially places with no windows, scare him the most. He starts sweating and tends to be really quiet. He won't look at anyone either. Easy to anger:
Depending on how you push him, you can piss him off really easily.Likes:
Playing with his knife.
Blowing stuff up.
Stuff that blow up.
Someone running their hand along his spine (though he will never admit it)
Sylvia. (she's his. Try your luck with her and taste the underside of his mud-stained boot.)Dislikes:
People who damage/touch his hat.
Spinach. Being restrained in any way (this includes rules but he tolerates the ones at the academy. He still wants to explore the outside world without being made into a trophy.)
People flirting with Sylvia. He's a little possessive of her but tries not to let it show.Roleplay: Example 1 (Script):Vitalis:
*ahhhh.... hot..... Why is it so hot? No matter how many times he asks himself that question, the only answer he can come up with is....* Because the sun is a freaking ball of fire and deserves to be destroyed..... *he's sweating, his hoodie sticking to his skin as he turns on the bed. It's too hot to go outside....* Ugh.... I hate
summer..... *the sound of snickering follows the sound of the door opening and closing but the phoenix doesn't bother trying to see who it is. He already knows.* Shut up, birdbrain. *he flips his roommate the finger, making Aristaeus laugh, and retaliates by sending a dart of fire at the griffin without looking. Finally, a grin makes its way over his face when Aristaeus yelps.* Example 2 (Paragraph):Vitalis:
Vitalis sat back against the tree he had stopped under, rough bark digging into his spine, and he sighed contentedly. The sky above was dark, gray clouds low and heavy. It would rain soon but for now, he was happy to relax in the cool breeze swirling its way between the trees. Idly, he began to scratch the edge of the cast around his forearm, wishing that, for the hundredth time, it didn't itch so bad. He was starting regret not letting Aristaeus or Sylvia heal it for him.
"Not too late to ask," he told himself quietly, knowing he wouldn't ask for such a favour no matter what he said.
Soft thunder rumbled and he stood with a sigh. He didn't exactly feel like getting drenched. The smell of rain was growing thicker and he barely made it inside when the first fat drops of rain hit the ground behind him. Schedule:
Online most days, if not every day. I never go to chat (except for once or twice when I feel like it. Try... once every few months?) and prefer roleplaying through comments or Notes. For activity... Well, I love MA and try to do something for all the events so yeah.... Kinda active? Enough that Vitalis got to 2nd year, anyway |D
If you wish to roleplay, just shoot me a Note and I'll reply as soon as possible.
Be warned that Vitalis can curse like a truck driver when he feels like it.ETC:
He's not wearing anything under that hoodie.
When he's reading or writing or doing anything that doesn't involve him walking around of beating shit up, he ties his hair up in a low ponytail.
The phoenix rebirth cycle has a 'random function' in it. Depending on his luck, Vitalis' ability to turn into a human temporarily was decided upon rebirth. His luck held until his fifth (current) rebirth where he found out that that ability was lost. (Note: This doesn't mean that he definitely won't get the ability on his next rebirth. It's a 50:50 chance)
If he had the ability to turn into a human, he would look different from his glamor. His skin would be darker and his hair redder. And, obviously, he would look a LOT younger.
He can't swim.
The only people that Vitalis is willing to trust his life with: Aristaeus, Tisiphone and, of course, Sylvia. Lately though, Xaber seems to be working his way onto that list... Currently, Vitalis' left hand is broken due to being crushed by a rock during the Sahara maze event. It is now wrapped in a cast that reaches up to a few inches below his elbow

Cut me some slack for the card. I filled the words in on Paint.
