What is victory?
It the defeat of an enemy
That sweet sensation tasted
At the end of a lifelong battle
The triumphant taste
When seeing your foe's face
Beated, fearful, exposing their cowardice

Yet.......
I have nothing to feel.
I have won.
I have succeeded.
The world I wanted....
It lies at my feet.
Like an offering.
A sacrifice.
To appease their king.
To appease their god.
To appease me.

Joy rushes through my veins.
Exhilarating feeling swarm my mind.
Nothing but pure hapiness should pervade my thoughts.
Yet....
Nothing happens.
I feel nothing.
Why? Why do I feel nothing?
Tell me... please....
Tell me!
Why?! What happened?!
My victory is complete!
I'm worshipped!
Feared! Admired!
I rule over all!
My foe lies defeated!
Nothing but a coward!
A wimp!
Licking his own wounds
Drowning in self pity!

Why do I feel nothing....?
I wanted this victory so much!
It meant everything!

All of it!
The deaths, the destruction,
Famine, betrayal, poison
Everything!
Brought about just for you!
You who forgave me
You who saved me
So why?
Why did you leave?
Now my victory,
My sweet, beautiful victory,
Is nothing ash.
Dead.
Useless.
Empty.
Meaningless.
